It is said that universities and institutions in India are globally recognized for their academic excellence, in the fields of science, technology, medicine and business. India is considered as the fast-growing and influential economy,  which also have higher education system has undergone rapid expansion over the past few decades. India now has one of the largest higher education systems in the world. There are thousands of colleges and universities in India to choose from, of many different types, sizes, specializations and origins, some state-run, others private for the rising students. India’s higher education system was ranked 24th in the world. A total of 23 top universities in India feature in the QS Asia University Rankings 2018.

Another of India’s leading specialized public institutions is the Institute of Technology Delhi, or IITD, which ranks 41st in the Asian rankings and also 172nd in the world rankings. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi has a current enrolment of about 8,000 students at its 325-acre campus in the south of the city classified by the government as an Institute of National Importance. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is internationally ranked for 14 subjects in which they are performing best in the top 100 worldwide for computer science, chemical engineering, civil and structural engineering, electrical and electronic engineering and mechanical engineering.

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore is a public university ranked 51st in the 2018 edition of the QS Asia University Rankings and also 190th in the QS World University Rankings 2018. It is considered as the the top most university in India. They also maintains a strong presence in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017, ranking among the world’s top universities in 12 subjects. It performs best among the top 100 worldwide for materials sciences, chemical engineering and electrical engineering.

Bachelor degrees in India last anywhere from three to five years, depending on the area of study and there include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Communications and Bachelor of Science degrees etc. which  take three years to complete, while Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Pharmaceuticals and Bachelor of Technology programs last four years. Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Medicine or a Bachelor of Surgery last five years. Here the tuition fees will vary depending on the program, institution and the applicant.
